BREAK OUT OF YOUR RUT AND NEVER LOOK BACK
You know all your open chord shapes, you've got your barre chords down, you can play a few songs, even some tricky ones... but you're feeling stuck. Where do you go from here? How do you get past jamming on the same chord shapes over and over again?
Why is it that some people seem to have complete freedom to embellish chords and move up and down the fretboard with ease while others get stuck in one position of the guitar? And they're only jamming over two chords, what could they possibly be playing?!
If you are wondering any of these things, you are not alone! This is a very common place to be. In fact, every single one of my students has encountered feeling "stuck" in this very spot.
Whether you are a rhythm or lead player, these barriers are often caused by a lack of chord vocabulary. At the end of the day, the more "options" you have, the more "freedom" you have. The person who can see F major everywhere up and down the neck has much more to work with than the person who knows only those two barre chords on the 1st fret of the low E string and the 8th fret of the A string.
And the answer is not just to learn as many chord shapes as possible. You could learn all the chords in the world, but if you don't know how to apply them, how to voice lead and embellish them, which chords work where, it won't do you any good.
That's why I have compiled just about every chord-related concept I know and use to this very day into a full length chord course for all of you to study, practice, and be able to reference for the rest of your guitar playing lives!
My goal with this course is not only to drastically expand your chord vocabulary and give you the tools necessary to discover and build chord voicings of your own, but it's also to help you create a strong visual of the fretboard so that the next time you're jamming out in A major, you can instantly see a map of all your A major chord tones (plus tensions, embellishments, substitutions, etc.) up and down the neck - AND fluidly shift to your next chord no matter where you are on the fretboard. Not only will this give you full freedom to play tons of different chord voicings all over the neck, but it will help you visualize key notes for improvisation, and set you up to comfortably see arpeggios and scales as well.

This course is NOT for complete beginners. This is for those of you who are past the technical barriers of the instrument and can play open chords and barre chords comfortably. This is not for you if you aren't willing to challenge the limits of your playing and do not wish to put in the time to improve. This is not a "quick fix" - there is a ton of information to digest and you must be willing to endure the learning process. You may need to re-watch some of the lessons a few times before fully understanding certain concepts.

FAQs

I have witnessed these concepts open up doors for every single one of my students in real time. As long as you put in the time and effort, you will see significant improvement.
-
This course is designed for intermediate guitar players who know some basic chord shapes, can play through a few songs, maybe know some basic theory, but can't seem to get to that next level. That being said, this information will open up doors for players of all levels (including those of you who are more technically advanced), as the lessons range from easily digestible to very challenging / advanced.
-
This is not for you if you are a complete beginner or if you are still pushing through technical discomfort with the instrument.
-
I recommend that you know:
- Open chord and barre chord shapes
- How to read TABs
- How to read chord charts
- The major scale or at least what it sounds like so you can hear your way through it (not 100% necessary but will help)
-
You may be able to apply certain lessons right away, others may take longer to digest. As far as seeing significant improvement goes, if you practice at least 20 minutes a day for about a week you will definitely see a difference.
-
No! Take it piece by piece and give yourself time to practice and absorb some of the information before watching the full course. I've consolidated down probably 30-40 private lessons-worth of material into digestible sections - one 5-10 minute section could be enough to give you weeks of practice! So take your time with it :)
-
If you go through the whole course, put in the time to practice every day for at least a week and see no improvements, you will get your money back.
-
I don't believe in gatekeeping information - I want everyone serious about improving to be able to access this information at an affordable price without the stress of a monthly subscription. You buy it once and own it forever!
