Eli has a deep understanding of music theory and how to apply it to the fretboard, which he’s demystified for me by showing me many ways to approach chords, scales, and arpeggios for jazz and other styles. He’s super friendly, tailors lessons to the student’s interest, and his playing speaks for itself - I highly recommend taking lessons with him!

I’ve taken 1:1 virtual lessons off and on with Eli for an over year now and my guitar playing has dramatically improved as a result. He consistently meets me where I am and figures out how to make the most of every session. Somehow he always manages to have like 6 simple exercises or ideas to help with exactly the thing I am struggling with. While he’s clearly a brilliant guitar player, not every brilliant guitar player can break down his mastery into dissectible, simple nuggets of wisdom every week. I find myself with that “unlocking” or “ah-ha” moment every week. Though I’ve got a long way to go, I plan on sticking with Eli to continue making meaningful improvements to my playing.

Eli has the ability to teach a completely beginner guitar player some music theory, help more intermediate players build knowledge in fretboard visualization and chord melody, all the way to helping anyone get better at improvising. He can do it all. I say this with confidence as he was able to meet me exactly where I was at, listen to where I wanted to go and now we are on the path and he has answered every question clearly along the way. Could not have lucked out any greater than I did in finding the right guitar teacher when I found Eli.
